Process
Though every project looks a little bit different, here's what the process for a typical project might look like:
-
1. Planning & Strategy
I like to be included in the process as early as possible. I have years of experience building e-commerce sites and am happy to consult with design teams in the strategy, wireframing, and web design phase of the project to ensure that all key pieces of e-commerce functionality are included, and that development for the project can be completed within scope and on time.
-
2. Development
Once final designs have been approved, I'll get started with development. During this phase I fully build out the site, including development for all pages, a content management system (CMS) for all site content, animations and interactions, app integrations, and optimization for desktop, tablet, mobile, and common browsers.
-
3. Testing & QA
Once the site is ready for review, I'll pass along a preview link where the site can be tested and reviewed. I'll collect all feedback in an issue tracker and will provide checklists for QA so that no page or feature is overlooked.
After site testing I'll begin the QA phase of the project where all feedback will be addressed. During this phase I'll also work through my pre-launch checklist to make sure that everything is set for a smooth launch.
-
4. Launch
Once the site has been approved and is ready for launch I'll move the site to its final URL - in other words, launch 🎉. I recommend what's referred to as a “soft launch” – making the site live a few days before any major marketing announcements.
After launch I provide a 30 day support period for CMS training and bug fixes to make sure that everything goes smoothly.
Let’s work together! Now booking projects starting in Q1 and Q2 2023.
